A Downtown Los Angeles Couple Session
There’s something about downtown that just feels magnetic… the light reflecting off tall buildings, the mix of history and modern architecture, the energy of the city all around. For this couple session, I wanted to lean into that vibe and create images that felt both cinematic and timeless. Downtown Los Angeles is one of my favorite places for couple sessions because it transforms love stories into something bold, romantic, and stylish.
When people imagine couple or engagement photos, they usually think of beaches, fields, or mountains. And while those locations are always beautiful, there’s something unique about an urban backdrop. Downtown Los Angeles gives me so much variety in one space: historic facades, dramatic staircases, modern glass towers, and hidden corners that look straight out of a movie. The city brings layers and texture into the frame, but at the same time, it makes the connection between two people pop even more. I love how the architecture sets the stage, but the emotion is what takes center spotlight.
For this downtown couple session, we explored some of my favorite spots that balance elegance and playfulness. The couple brought so much energy and trust into the experience, which allowed me to experiment with movement, blurs, and cinematic framing. One of my favorite moments was when they ran hand-in-hand across the plaza, slightly blurred so it felt alive and in motion- like a still from a love story film. We also found little pockets of intimacy under archways and tucked-away corners where they could just breathe each other in, even with the hum of the city around us. Those in-between moments are always my favorite.
