Picture this… soft spring light, blooming trees, and real moments that feel like your life ✨🌸

You don’t need perfectly behaved kids or a “picture-perfect” life to have beautiful photos. Moms are almost always the ones behind the camera. But this is your reminder: you deserve to be in these memories too.

These spring mini sessions took place at Dougherty’s Orchard, surrounded by rows of apple trees just starting to bloom with soft white flowers.

It was simple, relaxed, and honestly so much fun. No stiff posing. No pressure to get it “perfect.”

Just:

  • kids exploring

  • moms soaking it in

  • real connection

  • a little bit of chaos (the good kind)

Every family showed up as themselves, and that’s exactly what made these sessions so special.

A mix of families, all telling their own story…

One of my favorite parts about these minis was how different each session felt.

A mom brought her kids and grandma, three generations documented together in a way that felt so natural and meaningful.

Another family showed up ready to just play, laugh, and be together: nothing forced, just real moments as they unfolded.

And then there were two sisters who came just for themselves, wanting something simple, fun, and a little different to document this season of life.

That’s the beauty of sessions like this, they aren’t one-size-fits-all. They become whatever you need them to be.

I wanted these sessions to feel like more than just “quick photos,” so I styled three different setups to give variety without overcomplicating anything:

  • a peacock chair for soft, classic portraits

  • a vintage purple Huffy bike for something playful and nostalgic

  • and the orchard rows themselves for natural, movement-based moments

This gave each gallery a mix of:

  • candid + connection

  • lightly guided portraits

  • personality-driven moments

So nothing felt repetitive, and every family walked away with a full, well-rounded gallery.

Why spring minis work so well for mamas:

Let’s be honest, getting updated photos can feel like a whole thing. Outfits, timing, kids’ moods… it’s a lot.

These sessions are intentionally designed to feel short and manageable, low-pressure, but still meaningful. You don’t need everything to be perfect. You just need to show up.
