Documenting Real Moments at the RITFIT Pop-Up in Beverly Hills

As an Indiana-based lifestyle and branding photographer, I love traveling to document events, activations, and authentic in-the-moment experiences. Recently, I had the pleasure of flying out to Los Angeles for RITFIT Sports, documenting two exciting events showcasing their innovative home workout products. One standout activation took place at Westfield Century City Mall in the heart of Beverly Hills, and it was a pink-filled, vibrant celebration of movement, wellness, and lifestyle.

A Rooftop Fitness Experience with a Fun Twist

The event featured a rooftop workout class led by Miranda Cohen, and I focused on documenting the energy, joy, and candid moments as guests flowed through each exercise. I love documentary-style photography that highlights real expressions, connections, and interactions, and this event was packed with both. Between the upbeat music from a live DJ and the bright, playful environment, there was no shortage of movement and laughter to photograph.

Guests were treated to delicious acai bowls from Luxe Bites LA, which made for vibrant and colorful photo opportunities alongside Ritfit’s fitness products. Each participant also received a Ritfit yoga mat and the new small pink handheld AuraSpin grip plates, giving the day a tangible, lifestyle feel that is perfect for lifestyle and branding photography. My goal in photographing events like this is always to photograph the story behind the moment, whether it’s the energy of a group workout, the joy of movement, or the excitement of discovering a new product.

Why I Love Documenting Lifestyle Events

What makes events like this so special is that they aren’t staged: they’re real, interactive, and full of life. From the smiles and sweat to the hands grabbing a yoga mat or a smoothie, these details tell the story of the event better than anything posed ever could. I focus on documenting true-to-life color, natural light, and real connections, which is exactly what brands like Ritfit want to showcase when they highlight their products and experiences.

Being a travel photographer from Indiana also allows me to bring my story-driven, documentary approach to any location. Whether it’s a rooftop in Beverly Hills, a community event in Indianapolis, or an outdoor lifestyle shoot in Richmond, I capture the authentic energy of the day while highlighting both people and products in a natural, compelling way.

Bringing Brands to Life Through Photography

For Ritfit, the pop-up was more than just a workout, it was an experience. Through my photography, I aimed to photograph every layer: the excitement of the class, the lifestyle products in action, the rooftop views, and the candid moments that make the event feel alive. Each image tells a piece of the story: from the laughter of a participant to the details of a branded yoga mat in bright, flattering sunlight.

The Power of Documentary Photography

Documentary-style photography is all about preserving real moments as they happen. For branding, lifestyle, and events, this approach creates images that feel honest, engaging, and memorable. Every pose, smile, and action shot is designed to convey the experience itself, not just a static image. That’s why I love combining my Indiana-based perspective with travel work, it allows me to document the same authentic storytelling no matter where I am.

If you’re looking for a photographer for your next lifestyle, branding, or event activation, whether in Indiana, Los Angeles, or beyond, I’d love to help bring your story to life with real, in-the-moment photography that highlights people, products, and the energy of the experience.
