I usually recommend tidying the rooms we’ll likely use by putting away things you’d rather not see in your photos, but your home should still feel like your home. Choose outfits that coordinate without matching exactly, open the blinds to let in as much natural light as possible, and have a few favorite activities in mind, like reading books, baking cookies, playing a game, or simply snuggling together. The goal isn’t perfection, it’s creating space for genuine moments to unfold.

What Rooms Do You Use for In-Home Photography Sessions?

Every home is different, so I don’t walk in with a set plan of which rooms we’ll use. Instead, I look for the places that are meaningful to your family and have the best natural light.
